Predictably, 500 million Chinese passengers will have access to the inflight internet service by 2022, on a par with the United States. Moderated by: Joe Leader, APEX, CEO

The inflight connectivity market in China is on the verge of becoming the largest in the world. It is one of, if not the highest profile markets in the IFE/IFC industry today. Although most of the selections are yet to be made, virtually all the Chinese airlines have acknowledged the need to add connectivity to their aircraft. They are now analysing the various options, and this puts them in perfect position to take advantage of the very latest technologies. The size of the Chinese market, along with passenger requirements which are unique to China, will drive new technologies and applications within the IFC industries. This will create new opportunities for system and service providers, and we are just beginning to get an indication of how this will play out.

Regional content is booming and becoming more important for airlines in Asia, as well as other international carriers wanting to satisfy their Asian passengers. What makes Asian content unique?  What differentiates the local content by country and what appeals to each passenger demographic?  What new prospects exist for the airlines?  What are the trends and what challenges are Asian distributors facing?  Hear from leading distributors and airlines about the potential issues and opportunities.

3:00 – 3:30        Break & Exhibits

3:30 – 4:30        Coming Attractions: Hollywood Features for the Asian Market

With the growing market in the region, it’s no wonder that Hollywood films are making their way across the Pacific Ocean and into movie theatres, living rooms and of course, inflight. A discussion panel will review topics surrounding selection, delivery, demand and security.
