APEX Takes its Popular Regional Conference ‘Down Under’

(New York) – The Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) added another continent to its list of successful Regional Conferences, this time bringing a packed agenda and an impressive roster of presenters down under to Sydney, Australia in March.

Attendees lauded the first-ever stand-alone Australia educational event and expressed excitement about upcoming events.

“Nine out of 10 attendees rated their overall experience as good or excellent,” said Lauren Beneri, APEX director of programs and services. “And post-event survey results showed that expectations for future events are largely in line with what APEX has planned already, notably in Asia; the top two recommendations for future Asia events were Hong Kong and Singapore – both of which we plan to visit by the end of 2016.”

APEX Regional Conferences have become increasingly popular with members around the globe, as local airlines and vendors value the opportunity to share regional information with the larger association. Recent conferences have taken place in Shanghai, China; London, England; and Santiago, Chile – all receiving wide praise from attendees.

Topics at the Sydney event covered a range of crucial industry topics, including the future of connectivity inflight, trends in “next generation” ancillary revenue and new policies and regulations that are changing the flight experience. David Brown, joint managing director for Bluebox Avionics Ltd. gave a well-received presentation about portable device usage.

“In less than four years, tablets have become a mainstay device in the same category as cookers, fridges and microwaves,” Brown said about the increasingly important issue of portable electronic devices and their integration into the inflight entertainment experience.

The next APEX Regional Conference is scheduled for Hong Kong this November. Other upcoming APEX events include the APEX TV Market Conference this month in Dublin; two Technology Conferences in May and November, both in Southern California, USA; and APEX EXPO, 15-18 September in Anaheim, California USA. of events.
